Environment and Social Impact

Sustainability

At Accent, we have cared about the future since we started and are committed to doing everything we can to reduce the impact our business has on the environment. We believe that great menus can only come from the very best ingredients and our commitment to be innovative and inspired!

  • We have achieved ISO 14001 accreditation annually since 2009.

  • We are the only caterer to work in partnership with the National Farmers’ Union to support British Farming.

  • Where possible, our meat is Red Tractor UK sourced meaning it’s traceable, safe & farmed with care.

  • We use regenerative flour in our bread and bakery range.

  • We only buy fish listed on the sustainable stocks register by the Marine Stewardship Council.

  • We work with Olleco and the King’s Coronation Food Project to re-use surplus food where possible

  • We keep food miles to a minimum sourcing locally wherever possible.

  • We use energy efficient Combi ovens in our kitchens.

  • Our waste oil goes off for recycling in to high grade bio fuel.

  • We removed all single use plastics by 2021 (except cling film in the kitchen!).

And it doesn’t end there! Contact us to find out what else we’re up to.

Our Social Impact

Our dedicated teams volunteer their time and skills to make a meaningful, positive impact beyond the kitchen. Our partner charities include:

The Childhood Trust - providing support, activities and meals for children in need, creating work experience opportunities for disadvantaged youth groups

Natasha’s Allergy Research Foundation – leading the fight to increase allergy awareness and reduce the growing spread of allergies in people

Mind – supporting better mental health and wellbeing

Movember – changing the face of men’s health

We also work more locally with our clients’ charities as well, for example, CanTeam who support local communities to provide meals in the winter evenings. Let us know who you work with.
