Wellbeing at Accent Catering

Accent Catering are always looking to develop our Wellbeing range by introducing tasty and nutritional soups, whilst our "Leafy Greens" salad bar range is backed up by our salad bar manual which contains over 100 delicious salads with step by step instructions, which is a great training tool for our staff. In addition to our fresh food range, our company Food Development Director Paul Merry has developed a seasonal smoothie range which complements our "Fruit of the Month" campaign, this encourages our customers to learn about different fruits, the natural sugars they contain and how we can reduce unnecessary sugar in our diets but still enjoy something sweet!

‘This year, I am delighted to have added our healthy fresh Peri pPeri chicken range, "Sancho Pollo" to the company with inspirational flavours from Mexico, and it’s fantastic to see customers enjoying the new spicy chicken range and benefitting from our associated loyalty schemes’ - Paul Merry

Our new spring soups feature fantastic British asparagus, fresh peas, spring onion, watercress and spinach.

"Leafy Greens" salads are packed with proteins from lentils, barley, tabbouleh and quinoa, packed with flavour, colour and texture.

Seasonal smoothies are set to feature great anti-oxidant ingredients including strawberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, blueberries and raspberries.

With a great range in the works, the next challenge was to ensure our customers know about it, and engaged with the associated marketing material. Whilst a loyalty scheme can prove effective within a B&I site, getting Secondary School children to choose the healthiest option on the menu can often prove a bit of a challenge – and that’s where connecting with them through our marketing message was essential. Making sure students were aware that a healthy diet meant a sharper mind was one thing, but making that appeal cool and conteporary was another.
